Default Where did my file go?

I was downloading a Video. It was about 45% done when I shut down last night. Today, when I opened Limewire, a window came up saying something about not being able to save file to folder. Something about creating a new folder. I clicked ok not knowing what the heck it meant. I have been downloading this movie for about a week and a half. Not much bandwidth being offered by the person with the file. Anyhow, when I looked at the "Progress" after I got rid of the window I just mentioned, it said it was downloaded 100%. I clicked the movie and a window came up saying there was nothing to preview. The file just emptied out and was nowhere to be found. It was not in the recycle bin and I ran a search on my hard drive and it wasn't there! Where did it go? It was a week and a half of downloading down the drain. Can't figure out why all of a sudden the file could not be saved to the folder it has been in for a week and a half.
thanks for your help.

P.S. I viewed what was there of the file in Windows Media Player so I know there was a viewable file before this happened.

I've lost partially-loaded files as well, Intanet, although I've not seen anything about not being able to save a file. The file was still listed in my downloads and within a day started downloading again.

I'm a new user and know very little about the intricacies of using Limewire, so if anyone can shed some light for us, please do!

It just happened again. I think I know what happened. I opened up Limewire while the partially downloaded file was playing in my media player. Limewire couldn't read an open file so it just turned it into "100% downloaded". Unfortunately it somehow also removed it totally from my system. The moral: don't open up Limewire when a partially downloaded file is playing in a media player.
