The music that I download from Limewire is soft. Is there any way that I or LimeWire can make it as loud as other music?

Many audio programs have the ability to add their own id3 tags that allow the music to be increased in volume. However that info might only apply to that particular program.

But remember that it only applies to the id3 tag & will make no difference once you burn the music if that's your intention. You'd need an audio editor to do that such as http://audacity.sourceforge.net/windows.php which can open mp3's & use the normalise function which puts the loudest point in the song to the maximum allowable before distortion. So if you used this, you'd resave it as an AIFF/WAV uncompressed file, then use it for burning.

Thanks 4 replying. Isn't there free software on the web that I can download 2 make it softer? I dont hv any of the programs u said. I hv Nero (the older version)

WinAmp is also free.

I'd recommend it a thousand times more than i-Tunes!

Another you could add to the list is Audacity (click on link) as it's a FREE audio editor which can import & export mp3's, WAV, conversions, etc. It can normalise the audio (maximise the volume to safe levels below distortion point.) As an audio editor it can also clean up the sound using filters. You can also add VST filters, but the program, manual, VST enabler all are separate downlds. There's both a mac & windows version. The only main difference compared to similar programs that cost a reasonable amount of money is speed. But that's somewhat irrelevant.
