I Seriously Need Help!!!!

Ok, here goes.

My mother just got me my MP3 Player yesterday for my birthday and I just got the net back today. When I downloaded LimeWire it installed properly, but it won't let me download music, can someone please help me?

I would be very grateful!

Let's see if this is the problem; see License requirement (click on link) & see the 2 options, one for searching & one for Revert to Default. If this doesn't fix it then please post back more details about your set up & description of your problem.

BTW are your eyes blue? Mine are red at the moment. lol :D

1. OS version? (Eg: Windows 98) Windows 2000
2. What firewalls you have? Not sure
3. How much ram? Not sure
4. Hard Disk space available? 9.37GB
5. Connection type? (Eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Not sure...
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW - 4.9.37 Java - 1.5.0_05
9. Who is your ISP provider? What?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
11. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It said it worked.

Likewise! lol :D

Are you able to connect at all? Does the colour connection bar at the bottom left corner of LW's interface show green or only red? Does it say you're connected or not connected? You sometimes need to give LW 10-20 mins to connect properly. In fact, it's best to wait some mins before using & until it's connected properly & loaded any shared files & incomplete files.

Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

BTW ISP = Internet Service Provider. The company who supplies your internet connection. Do you know who it is?
Some ISP's are known to block or filter p2p sharing programs.

it's still not working, even my friend from Victoria can't figure it out and she has LW aswell...GRRR! and to make matters worse my mother wants the computer to do scans and set all the firewalls and stuff up....*sigh* Will you be on in about an hour?

Maybe. I'm coming & going at present. Friend from Victoria. Which country Victoria?

Perhaps your mother can fill in some of the above details about your computer set up. The problem is either your set up or your ISP. I suspect you've got firewall issues ... either or both software firewall & possible modem/router. But the fact your port test page worked makes it sound like something else.
