Yeh ok none of those makes sense to me. I dont know how to fix my problem!!!!:( |
Hokay. Please post your computer specs. It will help. You should post your: -OS: stands for Operating System. Some OSs are Windows XP, Linux and Mac OS X -RAM: stands for Random Access Memory. To make a long story short, the more of that you have, the faster your computer will go. One of the most common RAM amounts is 256MB. -Java version: computer language in which Limewire is written. Go to http://java.sun.com/ to get the latest version (free download) -ISP: Internet Service Provider. The guys you pay to have Internet goodness at home. Which ISP are you paying? -connection: what connection speed are you paying for. You can call your ISP to ask them, or just go to Google.com and search "speed test", do a bunch of tests (not just one) and post the results. -firewall: software that allows you to control Internet access for all programs. It also blocks outside people from connecting to you without your consent. -routers: the device that you plugged your computer to, to get Internet. Different from a conventional modem in that it also acts as a firewall. I don't think I can get any clearer than this... |
Does your ISP allow for P2P use because if you cant download it usually means it might be a firewall issue. How many firewalls does your computer have? If windows and you have SP2 you will need to adjust SP2 settings to allow Limewire through. Some ISP are now blocking P2P use are you a home user or are you in school? |
Dont think i have any fire walls. Im a home user. Not sure how to check anything not very good wit computers |
When you start the computer, the operating system will start up & it will list what version operating system it is; eg: Windows XP or Windows 2000 We need some details if we are to help you. To find out which Java version you have, you can go to LimeWire's (LW) menu bar, choose Help -> About LW ... & this will tell you the version of both LW & Java. Another way to find out which operating system & some other details is to go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Bug Report & click the option View Example. At the very top will list your OS, Java version, LW version. Can you also tell us which internet service provider you go through!? They are the people (company) you pay to give you internet service. |
ok I have some details for you now. Lime wire version is 4.9.37 java version is 1.5.0_04 from microsystems Inc and it is windows XP v. 5.1 on x86. My service provider is Acay. Ok hope that makes some sense. |
