No matter what I download, it starts, then about 10 seconds later just stops, then goes again, etc... It takes about 15 minutes to download any song because of this.

It goes up to any speed, then just goes down slowly to 0 for a while, then back up. It's really getting annoying.

Anyone know how to fix this?

if something like that happens once in a while, I figure it's a busy source.

However, if I suspect the problem is at my end, I check a download from a reliable source, like the files on http://www.magnetmix.com/audio2.shtml

If those files start choking too, then it's time to check my settings, router and/or ISP.

Even that one did it, I can download anything from anywhere at any speed, but as soon as I open limewire, they just randomly stop and go again.
