Re-installing will do the trick ... or should. The installer will uninstall the other copy at the beginning of the installation process. But that's only if it's LW version 4.4 or later. If you have a version earlier than this then you'd need to use the Add/Remove Programs control panel. BTW did you look in the actual LW program folder. It sounds like the shortcut in the Start menu items is missing.

Uninstall

I can see that reinstalling will uninstall other versions first, but in my case I need to Uninstall completely without re-installing just yet.

How can I completely unistall the basic version of LW 4.9.37 running under MacOSX.4.3?

Cheers

Any ideas on Tiger uninstalls, Ladies and Gentlemen? I see from other threads that just dragging all LimeWire related files is the suggested way - but if it asked me to supply an admin password to install it then doesn't that mean that it has done something at a fairly basic OSX level and which would then require a proper uninstall?

Or am I worrying over nothing?

The reason I want to uninstall thoroughly is that since downloading LW I have suffered a series of kernel panics, freezes and crashes whenever Folding@Home stops processing. There is obviously some sort of low level kernel conflict and by unisntalling both applications I can do a controlled reinstall until I identify the exact cause.

So, any advice, mon tres bon amis?

The program folder, & if you wish the preferences folder which is normally located here: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Many other people have been able to use Limewire (LW) with Tiger without issue. The problem may be something else. eg: hardware or softw. But LW acts as the catalyst that sets it off.

I just browsed some links on kernel panic ... all latter ones specifically tiger
