Excessive Download?

Im one of those pplz with download limit, so this problem is kind of serious for me. I have broadband connection and whenever i download say something sized 300mb, for some reason on the LAN connection it states i downloaded twice the size. I tried shutting down other program also using the internet but same result.Whats up wif that, what else does limewire download besides the actual file?
