Default how can I report a virus

New user here. I'm not sure how Lime Wire rates the programs but I'm assuming that is what those little stars mean.

Anyway... I tried to download a 5-star copy of Microsoft Office 2006 Professional (zip file - 851.7kb). The folder only contained 1 item - a setup.exe file. Well, according to McAfee, it was a worm. Damn - I deleted it before looking at the name of the worm.

I thought I should report this to someone but I don't know how.

Any advice is appreciated. Also, if anyone wants to explain how the stars are earned then I would be interested in hearing it.

Kym

The little stars indicate connection quality only. You were unlucky enough to download a pgm with a file size that's well known for being nothing but a virus.

Being a new user, you should really read all the stickies (in red) in each section of the forum...it's gonna save you a lot of time. Start off with the one in this section: Major Topics for download/upload help.

Within this, have a look at the LW Manual...it tells you what means what about everything. Might sound like a PITA but if you're going to use the pgm, you might as well know what you're doing

**Be very careful downloading programs.

Cheers!

lol ... I seem to recall that MS office is several hundred MB so WHY are you expecting it to be under 1 MB Really there is only one way to get software of this type and that is from a totally trusted sourse. Limewire is not one. I am glad you are using virus protection .. It is essential

Birdy gave you all the imformation you need. I have only one reservation: The Limewire manual scoots over the subject of Viruses with barely a mention and for imformation on these you MUST read the stickies, to have any idea how many there are and how to avoid them.

Kymberlyn,

I now realize that you came to limewire along the Scam site path. This is a pain for everyone, except the scammers who make lots of money by making totally false claims, but I hope you stick around and enjoy Limewire for what it is, even if it's not what you thought it was originally
