Updated to 4.10.0, and not able to continue old downloads

Hello there,
can someone help me, I just updated to 4.10 (limewire), and now all my old downloads (from the "incomplete" folder) are not downloading. I see them within Limewire, but they no longer show thier progress (some were close to being completed). Why is this?

Also (and this my potentially be the main problem), I get a window saying I am not connected, and to select "connect" fromt he file menu. ?????? What the hell? I never had to do that before. I, of course, hit the "connect" option, but it does not change anything.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Are you absolutely sure that you haven't made some other changes exept from upgrading

If not. One reason could be that you are using manual Port-forwarding instead of UPnP. The portnumbers may have changed

If you are firewalled you need to allow Limewire.exe to connect to the internet.

Its really hard to tell you what to do with so little info, but I tried

Also what version did you upgrade from ??

Thanks.

I upgraded from whichever version was being distributed about 6 months ago (dont remember the exact version number). And no, I have changed nothing at all. Just hours previous to the upgrade, everything was working as usual, then I had some sort of error window pop up saying I would not be able to use Limewire anymore, and that I should reinstall it. So I did. Now, all of my previous dowloads (many of which were over 90% done), now show they are 0% downloaded.

????

To That I must say ???? too

I have never heard of anyone getting that message before, but from that I would say that the download problem may well have started then and not when you upgraded.

You will need help from someone that has a little more knowledge than I do fixing that one.

Sorry, I can't help more.

I had a similar problem once but that only effected two of the downloads, and I didn't get any popup then exept that LimeWire had encountered an Error and had to shut down.

That was because I tried to open a videofile that contained some malware that made CPU usage go to 100%. Have you downloaded anything with Scotto in the filename ? If not, have you been infected by anything similar ? Even after I finally managed to delete the file, the two files that were downloading at the time never resumed downloading. All files that were waiting for sources were fine.

Thank you sleepless,
no, I downloaded nothing with that name (I checked up on that, since you mentioned it).

This is a most frustrating situation. I had nearly 200 files, some of which where very close to completion. Now, they wont even begin from 0. They just sit there. Yet they are still in the incomplete folder, with massive filsizes (the ones that are nearly finished). I am at my wits end.

Downlds refuse to reload (click on link) Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it as suggested in that link. But you can restart them, even if it is from 0% unfortunately. :( This seems to be very much a windows problem. It rarely happens on other platforms.
