I have 2.2mb broadband and im in N.ireland and im on a router i have opened the gnutella ports as suggested on a topic and i have set my speed at T1 and at 123.75kb/s on the download bar and 118.75/kbs on the upload bar im on a full 5 bar connection and im sharing over 1,400 files but i still seem to only get speeds at 1kb/s or 6kb/s at the highest plz plz help me thank you. |
1 Attachment(s) That can happen when downloading from busy or unreliable sources. See what speeds you get from a reliable host (like the one set up by LimeWire at http://www.magnetmix.com/audio2.shtml ) The magnetmix server was a bit slow tonight, but should be fast enough to check out your download speeds and compare with this: |
i done as you said and the speed again is very poor i dont know why this is happing i do have windows service pack and at the start of my windows start up it does come up connection to media i wonder if this could be a problem i never let it connect due to it not saying wat it is connectining to. plz could there be any other reason why its goin so slow on my connection? |
slow downloads driving me mad I have exactely the same problem, I used to be able to download at anything up to 150kb/s and then it started to slow down and I had real problems getting anything to download. I uninstalled and reinstalled about 5 times and nothing changed so I tried upgrading to pro, which actually worked for about a month. But since christmas I have been lucky to get up to about 5kb/s on my downloads and I have no idea why. Any ideas anyone? |
so this isant just happing to me hmmmm it is a problem for me cause i share alot of files and help alot of ppl out i always keep limewire open for a while even when im not downloading but my download speed should be at 220kb/s + like it use too. |
The only thing I could think is that my internet supplier is cutting down the bandwidth, I am on 1mbs broadband and have unlimited download capacity. I know at peaktimes (weekends and after 4pm) I used to get a much slower connection but normally I would download from 9am to 4pm without any problem. I checked their website but couldn't find much I wonder if they are the cause of the problem? |
im on talktalk unlimited 2.2mb broadband so i cant see why my downloads are affected when my ping in games say like Counter strike arent affected at all? |
I see a pattern, as I am also on talktalk! Checkout their help section and it does say something about P2P networks being partially blocked or something at peak times. Maybe they are blocking them now?!?!?! |
hmm ringses we may be on the same boat my friend my msn is lobo6661987@hotmail.com if u want to add me i think it could be talktalk then which is weird that its just happened? |
Yeah it is weird, I might try contacting them and see if I can get any reply from them on whats going on. |
