disappearing waiting downloads

I had a queue of downloads sitting for a while. Then yesterday I connected to Limewire and found that my list of waiting downloads had totally disappeared. Help!

Check how long you have your incomplete folder set for and change it to a higher number of days (ie:100 or more)...;)

hi hkgirlie,

I just had the same problem today and couldn't continue to download my incomplete files. Did you manage to change the number of days for your incomplete folder? How? I can't find this option. Did this fix your problem? Thanks.

well,
it was set on 7 and i changed it to a higher number just in case although I don't think this was the problem since I jsut started using Lime Wire yesterday...

Thanks for that. I've changed it to 100 days, but wondering what the maximum is.

Also, how many simultaneous downloads is advisable? I'm wondering if I have to many downloading at the same time that it might slow down my computer.
Thanks.

Don't know about a maximum, mine's set for 365 days.

You can play around with simultaneous downloads & find what works for you. Mine's set to 5, any more than that & it slows me down. It will depend a lot of factors. Just have a try:D

Thanks birdy.
Maybe it depends too on whether you've got dial up or broadband connection. I've got broadband.

I've only been using it about a month, but still I'm concerned that I could get a virus from some of the files, or whether people can send me a virus without me knowing. I'm not a computer genii.

And I see you're in Oz. Hasn't the government put some sort of ban on p2p downloading? How does it work and how do they know?

It's wise to be concerned about what you download:) See this for some virus info:

It pays to have good AV, spyware & adware programs and to scan files before opening;)

When I was using my LimeWire Pro, I was downloading a file that took a long time, and when it was around 70 %, I closed b/c it was too late. The next day I logged on and the same file was downloading, except starting back at zero. I am just wondering if the issue is the number of days it took (around seven, though I'm not sure) to get to 70%, or something else. I fixed my incomplete download clearing thing to 1000 days, but just in case, I wanted to know if this is the issue.
