Unhappy Previewing avi files

Hey guys. How can I preview avi files before they have finished downloading? Everything I download works fine once finished but I am going crazy downloading video files 400MB and up, using up my download limit only to find that once they are finished, are NOT the files they were supposed to be. I am not a genius at computers so talk to me like I'm dumb.

The best AVI Preview utility that I have found is VideoLan more commonly known as VLC. You can find it at http://www.videolan.org download available for most platforms and is open source so it's free. Good Luck!

The Bitzi web lookup is also a good way of checking whats in the file...check this link out for instructions on how to use it...

Go to file - open with - then chose the player you want to veiw the file with, whilst your there, theres the option to open with that player always select that and that way VLC will become your default player....
