Resuming downloads How come whenever I try to resume my downloads after reconnecting into the internet, Limewire restarts the whole thing? It is really annoying because I am downloading big files and I tend to switch off the computer before I go to bed and resuming the next day! Pls help me! |
you can do this my making a copy of the downloads.bak file and renaming it downloads.dat before you exit from LW, next timeyou start LW your donwloads will be in the state you left them in.......you have to right click the bak file click copy then paste it, it shoudl be called .....copy of downloads.bak change the bak to dat and thats it, do this before you close LW BUT after you have paused your downloads.....tell me if it works, works for me always loads my saved files now but i have to do it everytime...feel free to ask |
BTW if you have a version 4.10 older than 4.10.4 then you may need to update. A small bug crept in which had this effect. See http://www.limewire.com/english/cont..._history.shtml Normally this won't happen unless, you don't close LW properly before shutting down the computer, or you accidentally delete the downld preferences called download.dat, or you jump back to a much earlier version, or your computer crashes whilst LW is open. Before shutting down the computer, control-alt-delete & open task manager & make sure LW is closed before shutting computer down. If it's slow to close, then it's either due to your settings or there's something about your set up LW doesn't like. Setting LW to close down immediately should fix it but not necessarily if the problem is with something like java. |
