Every time i try and download something there are about 10 people trying to downloading something from me and it's seriously slowing down my computer. How can i stop my lime wire from uploading things? There's got to be a way to stop people from bieng able to access the files i download.

Are you saying that you don't want anyone to download any of your files? I've had many people download stuff from me and it never slowed down any of my downloads.

I see what you're talking about. My sister had the same problem. What you want to do is in LimeWire, go into Tools>Options>Uploads>Basic. At the bottom of the box you will see something that says Partial Files. If the box for that is checked then uncheck it. That might help.

You can also limit the number of upload slots ... mine is usually set on 5. Having too many slots just slows everyone down.

I agree with CS about "partial sharing" also for the reason there there is so much misslabelled trash out there that I lke to check stuff before resharing it.

Some will argue that partial sharing helps the network ... If all the files were good ... perhaps it would.
