Default Upload speeds to non-Limewire users

People downloading from me that are using Bearshare, Shareaza etc get very low speeds like 1KB/s or nothing at all while LimeWire users can get speeds at the max i set my upload speed at, this doesn't bother me much except all my upload slots are usually taken (and quequed) with non-LimeWire users and no-one is getting much at all. Any tips on what i can do to improve the situation ?
thx

*edit* nevermind, changing the Listen Port number seems to have rectified things

You mentioned upload speeds. You mean downld speeds right? Shareaza (RAZA) users are well known as unreliable to downld from b/c they use the most of their bandwidth on other networks. My advice is to try to find other sources which means also browsing them & browing any multiple results they've got for their files since they may well have similar files.

I have only been using limewire for a month, but it seems that about a week ago people downloading from me from other networks stopped being able to get speeds higher than 2kbps, but almost all of the time its between 1kbps and 0kbps . any limewire users receive the rest of the bandwidth.

When i have been downloading files i have also noticed that sometimes now i can be downloading from four or more hosts but i only receive 1kbps?

That's exactly the same thing i find although if i set the port number to the default 6346 (UDP & TCP) in my router i mainly get LimeWire users connecting but if i set the port numbers in the 50000/60000 range i mainly get Bearshare etc

1. Sounds like an ISP issue. See what speeds you get from a magnet link from here: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml Tell us what happens & what speeds you get.

2. Can you tell us what ISP (Internat Service provider) you go thru?

3. Whilst LW is closed, do a speed test from the nearest test site to you from here : Choose nearest location for a speed test & only have your browser open: http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/speedtest/

4. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?

5. Have you seen the total LW firewall config instructions?: Connection problems? Check here first!

6. If you're not sure about setting up upload speed settings then ask Murasame here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=27036

*scratches head* everything seems to be running fine atm, no problems with any of the tests using the links in your post. My ISP is Netspace(Australia) and my router is a NetComm NB1300+4 and connection speed is 1500/256kb/s.

Well if all your speed tests are fine & you've followed all the tips in the Major Topics for Download/Upload Problems then there's no issue. If all the tests are fine then the problem "must be" your sources. Yes some sources are definitely unreliable. I thought I already mentioned that those that use multinetwork programs are highly unreliable to downld from. Perhaps I forgot. Oh well ... keep it in mind ... you never know which other network they're giving priority to. Some networks require they can only downld as fast as they upload so ... their upload speeds often suck! For LW users, some people do use more than one p2p network at the one time. Not wise or healthy for the network but ...
