I have a 700.5MB Avi file that I am trying to download. I get a speed of 80+ but the file never saves. There are like 60 sources. I have cancled download, deleted file and restarted twice. I left it run for 8 hours yesterday and no dice. Tired rebooting, no go. Everything else is downloading ok. If I can find good sources I can hold 350+ rock steady. Any bets?

Try checking the file with Bitzi before you download it. It will give you an idea of whether the file is good or not. See How to use Bitzi Web Lookup .. & How to use Magnet Links & Direct Connect/Browse/Chat

There are alot of files(especially large video files) that are either fake or corrupt intentionally put on the network to discourage downloading.

Are you able to preview it? I can't think why it would download but not save.

Also I was wondering why you are cancelling it? Sometimes you have to wait for days to finish a download. Depends who's online and sharing the file you want, plus upload slots available, connection type, hair color, ect.

I canceled because the %download was not moving. When downloading at 80+ it usually moves pretty fast. Around 1% every ten minutes. I did leave it run for like 8 hours and no change in % with rate meter at 80. I assumed that the file was corrupt. I tried to preview but got an error not enough file.

Sources dropped down to 20. Downloaded at 60+. All fine.

I wonder if there was a corrupt version being passed around. If a lot of sources all had a partial copy of the corrupt file would it cause this?

Could be. LW can be set to share partial files, so you could be d/lding from someone that has a corrupt file and they wouldn't know if they hadn't checked it.
