Default unable to delete a file that hasnt downloaded properly

Hi - A while ago i downloaded a file that didnt download properly and now no matter how i try it wont delete. It has gone to my music flle and i have downloaded an " unlocker" and tried loads of different ways to delete this file to no avail. It just wont delete.

I regulary do virus scans which show up nothing........
My connection speed is 56k
I have windows XP
I have tried to delete in safe mode (F8) to no avail

Please help if you can

Hi - thanx 4 replying !

I have tried everything you have suggested but the file is still not deleting ???

Its driving me mad ! - cant understand why not.
The problem im having is its not giving me a delete option ???

I will be eternally in your debt if you can help me !

Have you run an AV scan recently? I can't really find any other solutions apart from what I gave you before. If all these tools aren't working, maybe you have a virus? Been downloading any program files recently?

Someone else might come along & have more ideas. But for now, I'd do an AV scan & maybe spyware & adware scans, too. Here's a thread about virus probs:

thanx but was is a AV scan? soz that prob sounds really silly but i dont know too much about computers.
i do virus scans though every week and nothing ever comes up on them?
i have just re stored my system to an earlier date to see if that will work xx

AV is just anti virus

See how system restore goes...

I have only done it !!! I cant beleive it !! I went over the advice you gave me earlier and i downloaded the " why cant i delete this file" one and Im absolutely amazed to say its worked !!

Ive been trying to solve this for months to no avail ! I cant thank you enough !!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(hope your not married your wife will have someting to say about all thoses kisses !) no seriously thank you very very much !

It really was peeing me off !
