Blank Results Page

Hi,

Im using LimeWire basic for 3 months, and everything has worked fine as far as one day I search for a song or sht else. When i try to search a file(by artist OR by song name) I get no results. It doesn't SAY no results, the results page just stays blank.

I already have downloaded losts of files by using LW, but right now i do nothing.

Can someone help me?

Thx..

Open limewire and go to Tools > Options > +Searching > Basic, then for "Maximum Searches" set it to 5. If it's at 0 you will get a blank screen when you try to search.

i did so, but nothing happened..everything is same a couple of blank search pages..
i think i will not be able to use LW and unfortunately will uninstall it..

then what will it be?

Can you tell us what ISP (internet service provider) you use?

Try a test, downld a magnet link from this site http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml
Tell us what happens.

Do a search for let it be or beatles & see if you get results.

it can dl any magnets from magnetmix...

i think the problem is not related with dl process, the problem is about viewing search results..because LW is unable to display results..

what do you think?

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included.) & see if that makes any difference. You should make a note of any important settings because you'll need to reset your options after deleting the prefs folder.

i have deleted that folder and reset the preferences..

but nothing have changed.. still cannot find anything..one week before it was working as it should be, but recently not..

is it possible that my pc might be infected by a virus?
on the other hand, pc can do other tasks properly..

thank you..

Check the 1st section here WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! (click on link) & you'll find a number of online virus checks you can do.

You never did tell me. Who is your ISP (internet service provider)?
Lack of search results generally points to an ISP using a p2p shaper.

I don't know how keen you are about this thought, but you could try installing another gnutella program to see if you have the same problem. Try BearShare Lite http://www.filehippo.com/download_bearshare_lite/

french_kiss February 13th, 2006 04:38 AM

I installed BearShare..
it is searching and downloading..it is as it should be..

probably i'll continue my p2p journey with BearShare..

thanks for your interest..
