Unhappy dialup should not share or dl large files

i share and dl larger sized files (tv shows & tv movies) and see ppl trying to dl 300-700mb at 1kb (several days of dl). they are taking up slots that faster hosts could be using. i will not dl from a dialup host and i dont want them to dl from me. if you are using dialup ... please stick to music files.

Red face

The problem is people do not now how or what there bandwith is
and they do not know what they are doing.

I have strict rules when you try to download from me.

1: Modems are allowed as long as they are transfering at better than 3Kbs. That means you down load one at a time, and you do not try to upload at the same time. One or the other. Maximum speed of a modem is 56000. If you try to download and up load it's the number or uploads and downloads divided into 56000 PLUS OVERHEAD.

The same applys for high speed, except they have a higher bandwith, ie they transfer at a higher speed.

2. From me you are allowed 1 upload at a time, per person, after all there are other people trying to download from the same site.

3. IF YOU DON'T SHARE, AND YOU HAVE "TRANSFERED INTERRUPTED", You have been blocked from this site and there is no way that to contact me you have corrected what you have done wrong.

Pay attention to what you are doing, if you don't know explore the forms.

vB Code this is not directed at you per se, It's a general reply to people wondering why they been stoped form downloading a file with a message "Transfer Interrupted"

I cant believe you bother checking, little own police whom you allow to download based on the speed they download at.

If your worried they are using up download slots just allow more slots!

Remember that they are most likely only downloading some of that large file from you, probably also getting it from 7 other hosts, it makes it pretty hard to get 3kb a second off every host. (Dunno to many dial up connection that achieve download speeds of 24kb/s, Thats what I used to get with my old 256kb dsl service.)

Personally, I use a very simple system,,, if I've got what your interested in, download to your hearts (or modems) desire! Isn't that why we use P2P networks???

If I'm fortunate enoughth to have a DSL connection which I can leave on for ages, I don''t care who is uploading from me or at what speed (within reason). I would prefer one modem to be quietly uploading a single large file for hours, showing he has patience and a true desire to get the file, that some idiot on T1 who lines up 600 files for download and expects me to not be utterly pissed off by his greed. The second case I will most likely ban if I happen to catch him at it.

Well I just did in fact lol

Excuse me but what right do you have to tell someone to just stick with music files if they're using dial-up? There are a lot of people that can't afford it. If you have something that they want then let them download it! We have DSL and if there's someone who wants to download a large file from us then we let them... regardless of their connection speed.
