Default TYPE vids..

I was having problems viewing several type of videos that I downloaded and took the advise found within these many threads. That LVC fixed many problems in some cases and was great to view in the enlarged view of things that look better bigger.

I doalloaded several types of readers/viewer/codec or whatever.
I was reaadin g about peoples problems also and decided to see about that BLITZI... Well I never got the Blitzi to perform correctly. So I went further and d/l the HYPLAY too.
Well the result is that I can see vids that I couldn't before but that HYPLAY changed almost all my "TYPE" to Hyplay so I can't tell the MPEGs from the MP3's in the files. I found that the LVC kind of took over the type column too. I was not too suprised as Real Player & WMP do it too but they only put the ICON not change the impotant data such as the type media. Now I have a few hundred songs and videos mixed in two files.
I still find that some vidoes will not play correctly.. Some start up but they have colored stripes, bars and splaces of color instead of the movie.

I know drop back 10 yards and punt.... I was really hopping to have a solid program that would show all the crap that I down load.
I had very little luck previewing stuff. One change that I don't like with these new solutions to my codec problem is that before I could double click a downloading file and get an idea what it was about. You know how people change the titles and mislead the avid video watcher. Well now it doesn't open the incomplete ones or give me a hint. It is a real disapointment to down load " twelve nude ladies jump from burning building into firemeen's net" and find an old codger feeding pidgins in a winter park instead. You get my drift....
I would like to D/L those AXI and see them but I can't find a codec that will do it and work in my Win-XP machine. Oh I got eh disc space to handle it all .......

Haven't burn much but I do back it to CD's to protect things.
