Default Losing Internet Connection

Hello,

I am at home on a High Speed Cable Connection. Whenever I am downloading something thru LimeWire, I always lose my internet connection completely until i close out of limewire and wait a few minutes.

I have lowered the bandwidth used for downloads to about 50% (25kb/s) or around there. Even then I still lose my internet connection. I just reformatted my computer and have never had this problem previously.

Could anyone please provide any assistance? Thanks.

Edit: Sorry, I am using Limewire 4.10

Try Disabling Ultrapeer capabilities & reducing your uploads slightly.

Reinstall Java using the "Offline" version Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

Try not using the Resume/Find Sources function on all your files simulteneously.

Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?

Who is your isp btw?

Thank you! I lowered the upload (it was at 100% but i figured there were no uploads so no problem...right? :-P)

But also downloaded the other java thing, and....the result of that test is false.

I am using road runner

It might be related to you not being properly configured; see Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) & check the setting up of firewall, & also the UPnP section below it. The issue might be your modem/router.
