![]() Hi from melbourne australia. I have some questions that l want to ask, l don't know if l have the right part of the forum but l hope l wont have to repeat myself again, because l usually write long messages. The first thing is that l am new to these file sharing programs, and i'm not that great at computers, so if you guys have an answer/s to my questions, could you explain it in laymans terms. (not that i'm dumb). Anyway l am using a PC, with windows XP HOME EDITION, and l am a user of limewire pro (dont know version number). I am trying to download a small video clip/s of a movie and game. But when l press launch on limewire pro, l receive a message from windows media player, the message is long, but l will type it in anyway, the message is below: A license is required to play the selected content. To obtain the license you must visit the content provider's web page. You might be required to register or pay a fee for the license - it varies by provider. address http://pluginprovider.com/ Web pages can contain elements that coild be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that the content is from a trustworthy source before continuing. Are you sure you want to open the web page to obtain the license? Now the above is the message l get every time l try and play a small video clip, i've done research in to this and l think the code problem for it on the microsoft help web site is COODOBBE, and l have yet to find proper answers, which is why i'm writing to you guys. So what can l do about this problem? And will this problem happen again like say if l wanted to download a movie, like meet the fockers. Secondly again with limewire pro, l am trying to download a game called leisure suit larry magna *** laude, my friend said he downloaded it but l don't know from where/ or the source. I am trying to download the whole game, the full version, and so my question is how do l know with my search results in limewire pro which is the whole game, l see demos(zip), or a quick time movie (mov), the letters in these brackets appear on the screen next to the description, and then l see PC game (rar), and with emule (the other file sharing program) l see a description pc game cd 1, and then on the next line pc game cd 2 and so on, so i'm just a bit confused with these abbreviations (like l said im not that great at computers), so l guess what i'm asking is what should l be looking out for on limewire/other programs if l want to download the full pc game of leisure suit larry magna *** laude. Another thing is l know this is help for limewire pro, but l tried emule the other night and l tried to download something and under `status' it had the word `waiting', well l was waiting for over an hour, does that have something to do with the fact that maybe there are thousands of other people trying to down load the same file/s at the same time, any answers? Finally my last question, is would you guys know of any other file sharing programs, that are FREE, l mentioned emule, and kazzas another one, but l think they've been (kazza) taken to court, not unless there's another version of kazza thats free and legal. So if you know of any that would be great! Once again sorry for my long message, l like to be clear, l hope the above information was helpful, so you can help me, bye ![]() |

![]() Hi, With your licence issue, easiest thing I have found is to avoid all movies except avi and mpeg versions, otherwise if it does not require a licence it is launching your browser and opening porn sites! There is a free version of limewire, there is also a couple of limewire offshoots such as Frostwire, go to the home area of this forum to see the most commonly used P2P applications that use Gnuttella. Gewt used to the system with smaller files, learn the ropes that way, you will feel o lot less pissed off if you get rubbish in a 20meg file than waiting for a 700meg file. THere are plenty of other tips on how to setup and what to do through this forum. |
