Unhappy Lots and lots of MP3's with no sound!!

Anyone is experimenting the same issue, the files I download just plays silence, the files came with an akward number in the filename and have no Bitrate number.

quite possibly fake files .. best to go for ones showing bitrate and artist album title. The awkward number sounds like something to avoid. vheck you get files aver 3 or 4 MB .. some smaller files under 1MB will not be right either

I hope this helps

Yes the files R at least of 3 MB even 7MB but when U play them it's only silence, U see the timer running but no sound, also the time of reproduction in the player displays more than 20 mins remaining while playinng the file.

These do sound like corupt/faulty/fake files, especially since you say they are reading 20 mins for a file, as this time length would indicate a file of 20 MB or more. ...althought sound might be the wrong word to use lol

What media player are you using? are these mp3 files? ..if not what type are they ..... also I suggest downloading some random files which look ok and see what happens with them. You can always delete them if not to your taste. If you want to give more details of the files .. which should not be given on the forums ..please feel free pm me. (button below)

I had a similar problem with a popular artist some weeks ago, it had a "tiny symbol" before the artist/file name which I couldn't read. After my standard virus check, tried the file in 3 different players & all showed way too long a play length for the file size,,,about 4x what I'd expected, so just deleted it in frustration. Very strange! but I've noticed the same symbol again recently & left the tune alone.

Thanks for your answers guys, and yes the files R mp3 files, popular song's like Luxurious of Gwen Stefani, etc, and all the results that I get from this file are this kind of "mute songs" LOL, BTW I'm using Windows Media Player, Winamp, Nero Showtime and Intervideo WinDVD to play them with the same result.

Regards!!

I'm not one for modern popular stuff but have tried to get it on occasions. I end up with loads of purposely messed up files and find that getting them off a modem user is often a good idea .. In general they seem to care about what they share and you'll get lucky in the end hopefully.

The record companies plant some of these files I think and they should really find something useful to do with their little lives.

Good luck
