This is pretty widespread now. Unfortunately, LW can't control what people share - even if it's junk. Here's some info on corrupt audio & bitrate to file size ratio:

curiously worded question!

Limewire is a client which connects users to the Gnutella network. Anyone is free to upload what they like on the network and at times dubious files are uploaded by people and organizations who don't seem to have the best interests of the network at heart. That's about the situation .. I hope it helps

that was the curious part. Limewire is not "going down" any such road. As I said certain individuals/organizations upload junk files onto the network, and this is particularly the case with recent pop material. With a bit of care and a certain amount of luck you will find what you are looking for.

Maybe if you had just quoted that part then I would have perhaps understood what you were referring to as CURIOUS QUESTION.

However I asked this question as it was the first time I had ever seen such a vast amount of fake files for a specific album with no genuine files at all.

For copywrite reasons and I suppose forum rules I have not revealed the artist or album name.
