Newbie - MP3 trouble
 

Hello,

I had limewire a while ago, but didn't use it much. When I installed this newer version and did my usual search for a certain rap artist, all I get is MP3 "type" files.

The files download, but when I preview or play them on my pc, they sound like I am playing a scratched cd.

Before when I ran the program, I would get all types of audio files, now all that comes up is MP3's and I am unable to play those. Could someone please tell me how to search for files other than MP3's.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

What type of files are you looking for? In newer versions of LW some file types are filtered by default. In LW go to Tools>Options>Filters>Keywords and you can change the settings from there.

If your having trouble playing files either the files are corrupt or your missing the right codecs to play them. Try playing them in a different player. Some suggestions here: CODECs list for Movies /Alternate players / Video help forums
