"Queued" Forever
 

I can search for files, and when I click "download" they go into the download tray, but they go into "queued" and never connect or begin downloading. I don't have any other files downloading or uploading. I've let Gnutella through my firewall. I've tried deleting LimeWire and re-downloading and installing it. I am using the latest version of LW (4.10.9). Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?

If things are queued for ages, try deleting your preferences folder (with LW closed) as shown here

Getting stuck on queued can happen if you're trying to download too many files at once, but not usually with just the one download.

After you've deleted the prefs, give LW a good half hour to settle & then see how your downloads go. You might want to have a look at this thread about how to continue files downloading

Tried your suggestion, no luck.
Same thing - stuck on Queued.
Also every time I exit it it keeps opening back up on it's own... I don't want it to be open (especially if I can't download anything anyway) and it keeps running by itself... no matter how many times I exit, it opens back up. Anyone know what's going on there?
Argh... I just deleted the rotten thing off my computer... until I know what's going on with it I guess I'll live without it or look for another P2P program... sucks because I've used Limewire for over a year and have never had a problem, and I love it - I've never found a P2P program I liked other than LW. I'm pretty disappointed.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Sort out your main problem 1st, which is this LimeWire continually Popping up & also Opening at System Startup (click on link). Get Norbie to fix it for you.

You might even consider Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! if you have the same problem after you fix the above problem. Aim for those at 0 KB in size.

In future aim for file above 1 MB (1,000 KB) or larger in size. Anything smaller than this is either spam or viruses. So beware. Use the Junk filter to filter them out.

I'm quite computer literate and pretty aware of what files to watch out for. It's not the files I'm downloading - it does this with every file.

I'll try your suggestion in the near future... right now I don't feel like fighting with it anymore.
