![]() Limewire opened with a message saying my download list could not be loaded. I went to the library tab and viewed incomplete files, highlighted all and said resume. Files are now starting from the beginning! I have seen in Docs and Settings (Win XP) a folder called Incomplete with all the partial downloaded files in. Is there a way to retrieve these??? |

![]() I have the same problem! Almost every time i start LW it tells me unable to reload my incompletes. Probably because every time I exit from LW it either has to be an "end task" in Task Manager or a system restart whilst LW is running. It should be more robust than this though! Re-load the incompletes from the LIbrary and, as you say, they start again from scratch - which, if you've got megabytes in incompletes is a major bummer. But sometimes they do resume. Why? Why this inconsistency? There's nothing in my "docs&sets" incomplete folder by the way. It seems to me that this bug (for that's what it is) should be of major concern as it completely destroys the whole point of using the software. Surely there must be a fix or a workaround? Please help! |

![]() Thx for your input. I have literally just upgraded to the very latest version of Limewire Pro. I have to keen using Task Manager because LW keeps on freezing! I keep on switching to it and finding just an empty window with the LW title. Do you think I should reinstall? How can I downgrade to an earlier version? Shall I just give up on LW and go back to WinMX? |

![]() WinMX is far from defunct and I love it! Go to www.winmxworld.com |

![]() Downlds refuse to reload (click on link) are the main reasons for this happening. If your system is freezing whilst using LW, then knit a jumper for it to keep it warm. Don't forget the beanie & gloves. ![]() I hope you have at least 500 MB of ram, & at least 75% of your HDD free & defragmented frequently. Don't use the Resume/Find Sources function on all your files or else this may cause problems with LW using up all your computer's resources. Try these things: 1. Open your Add/Remove control panel & remove ALL versions of Java listed. 2. Downld & then install the "Offline" version of Java 1.5; Java 1.5 (take the JRE) 3. Delete your LW preferences folder; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included.) 4. Reinstall LW using the "Offline" LW version found here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml (no need to uninstall LW as the installer will uninstall it at the beginning of installation!!!) * After opening LW, leave it for a while for it to settle down before using. * Consider purging your incomplete files. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! * Turn Ultrapeer capabilities off. Tools>Options>Speed * Tools>Options>iTunes>Sharing & disable sharing options!!! * Disable LW's media player so it opens your default audio player instead. Tools>Options>Player & uncheck option. Always press apply. You'll need to re-open LW for this to take effect however on this occasion. * Consider reducing both upload & downld bandwidth by about 10-20% each! If you sense LW is slowing down & slow to respond, close it down. Then re-open it. This should refresh it. Well, goodbye Lovepeaceguru, if you want to go then go. Farewell! And hope you enjoy the very long queues for any files that winmx is famous for. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; March 4th, 2006 at 09:07 AM. |
