my limewire will now only download at a total 20kbs, why?
 

i use lime wire all the time and am really annoyed as i have a 2.2 mbps broadband connection which meant i could do several high speed downloads at once (provided there were enough sources etc), but all of a sudden it will only downloaded at a COLLECTED speed of 20kbps (i.e 1 dl at 20kbps, or 2 at 10kbps each or 4 at 5kbps each etc). if i downloaded something using my internet eplorer from an attachment or so on, its perfectly fine and limewire used to be fine too; sometime reachin speeds of 150kbps.

im really annoyed please help i beg! it is too slow

the jist is my entire bandwith when usin limewire seems to have decreased to 20 kbps in the last couple of days, despite a 2.2mbps broadband connection and i dont know why!

I do wonder if your isp had put a control on your p2p usage. Many isps do this, some after you have exceded a montly allowance. I would suggest you check with them to see if this is the case.

hmmm yes im with pipex and i guess theyve deemed me as a "heavy user" and due to the illeagality of p2p i dont know whether to complain or not. this is such bullshit, i had no idea they could do this (implace traffic control). they do stress on their website that p2p is basically whats causin problems and what theyl cap. dammit i actually live on lime wire, im buggered!

and it also worth talking to someone other than a bored switchboard operator to see exactly hat your pasition is re. p2p
