just wont do it I went to download something that said it had 20+ sources. Limewire spent about 30 minutes just connecting to the file, and then it said awaiting sources, or need more sources. I did another search on the file and it still said it have 20+ sources. I downloaded 5 other similar files and they had the exact same problem. Then today I went to download some completely different files and am having the same problem. If anyone could assist me in this, or tell me what the problem is, it would be much appreciated. |

often muliple host files are i'm afraid fake.. or spam ... it is a good idea to check the file size and make sure it is the correct sort of size and also check the file with Bitzi, You right click on the file in the search window > advanced >look up file with Bitzi .. this will take you to a page for the file on the Bitzi website. It may have some information to help you. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=33325 may be of interest if you are finding no problem downloading files with fewer hosts , this could well be what your problem is. |

thank you for replying. I always check the file size on everything i download, especially with programs to ensure that im not downloading a virus. It is the appropriate size, and I am pretty sure it is a valid file. I am having the same problem with all files now. I thought it might be a problem with my settings in trying to download so many files, so i set it to only allow 10 files at once, but it did not help. Any further assistance in this issue would be greatly appreciated. If it makes any difference I am using Limewire PRO version 4.10.5 |

Make a note of all your settings, then try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included.) Also see the following link & follow “ALL” the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills to help solve your problem: To continue files downlding (click on link) |

Thanx DL prob solved for now... Thanks I was able to browse the network and search but couldn't DL anything and had some incompletes that I wanted to finish. Deleting the C:\Documents and Settings\{User Name}\.limewire and changing my connection speed to a T3 has made a huge difference. I went from 3-15k per file to 30-125k! With people DL off me going from 1-5k to 10-15k. Just remember to lower your DL and UL speed in tools>options>Download & Upload to reflect your real speed (mine is 300kbs incoming and 30-40kbs outgoing, check the links about speed tests on your ISP). Also set the slots for upload to one a person and 2-4 max total (you might want to only DL 4-6 files at a time also). Hope this helps solve somebody elses problems also. |
