Why VIDEO downloads fail much more than AUDIO? Anyone have wisdom on why VIDEO files fail to download much more often than AUDIO? I'm on a iMac, latest version of OSX and LimePro. When I search for an audio file (a song) and start a download, everything proceeds smoothly and I rarely get the dreaded "Need More Sources" failure if I choose a selection with multiple #s of sharers. But when I've tried to download video files (like, say, an epsiode of "The W*st W*ng") even the ones showing multiple files/peers available, 4 to 25 copies, rarely work, and the ones with just a single listing and no extra numbers...fugedaboutit! Any idea why, and how to get around this?? We don't want to know specific names of files you downld if they are copyright. Forum Rules (click here) |
Video files can be particularly more difficult if they are from other gnutella programs. eg: Shareaza (raza). To know which client program is offering the file, control-click the very top of the search results columns & a contextual menu will appear allowing you to choose to show Vendor as an extra column. You can also do this with the downld window & the upload window. I guess the best thing to do is look for other options. If you vary your search you may find better & more reliable sources.
