Bitzi lookup ????? Every time I look up a file on Bitzi, I always get the same result. Bitprint Not Found We're sorry, but Bitpedia has no information about the bitprint: urn:sha1:XHMW2VHOIXUDI7XM7ZVZUSRGVLKEICRR If you have this file in your possession, you can use our Bitcollider utility to report it to Bitpedia. Does this mean it is a bad file? I am trying to download a file and it is 9,488 KB. I read the sticky on the ones that are usually viruses. I was just wondering what/if the results were bad or if anyone had this problem when they look up a file. thanks, moe |
It doesn't necessarily mean the file's bad, just that no-one's rated it. I've only seen one or two music files rated, it's more common for movies. If the file size looks right & it doesn't have one of the suspicious titles ( eg T_H_I_S), start downloading & after maybe 20%, preview it. Just make to scan the file before opening it:) |
Ok I tried your suggestion. I let the download get to 23% then clicked on it and clicked preveiw. This is the result that I got: The compressed (zip) folder is invalid or corrupt. I received this on both files (programs) that I am trying to download. One I have been trying to download for 2 days now. Not a constant connection, and I have snail dialup connections. One is at 56% and the other 25%. So, if it is a zipped file does that mean it has to completely download before preveiwing?? Sorry for all the crazy questions. Thanks, moe |
If it's a zip file you won't be able to preview it. You'd have to extract it first, I'm pretty sure. Sorry... I just assumed you were downloading a music file:D You really have to be careful with .zips. Sure, some are ok but a lot are not. From what I understand, they're pretty easy to infect. Like exe files. Have a read through this http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=41432 If you absolutely must download zips, make sure you do scan the file with your AV program before opening. I probably sound like a broken record, but so many people end up with a sick computer after careless downloading;) |
Most of the time, it means that the file (it's happened to me a lot) hasn't been reported as of yet by Bitcollider users. Sometime soon, when one reports that particular file on Bitzi, information will be available about it. I hope that helped you for now. (If you want to see that file on Bitzi, try the Bitcollider by clicking here.) |
