When you post about a problem you should include these details: Can you give us a total description of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. 11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Lucky Bonus question: 12. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? You should also tell us what fixes you've tried & their effects. The Stickies around the forum are full of fixes. |

well anyway back to my problem, ive went through and checked many settings still slower than ever. My max download speed i cant get is 5-6 should be around 40. Im using the windows firewall, windows xp home edition, not sharing files, wireless internet with midwest wireless, plenty of ram and memory. Lime wire had previously been working great. I am contacting my serivce provider and see if its anything they did. |

well i just got off the phone with my internet service provider and they ran a check on my connection and there was nothing wrong with it. Ive done numerous thing that people have suggested not sure what is the problem. A friend of mine both started experienceing this same problem after we downloaded some sled necks movies off limewire, have deleted them now but still is the problem. |

schwic did you check the downld speed when downlding a magnet link from here http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml ? That is sometimes a sign if the ISP is shaping your bandwidth if your magnet link gets particularly low speeds. Do you see a brick wall in front of the globe icon at the bottom of LW? |

their is no brick wall infront of the globe, im not firewalled. I click the link and downloaded one of the things it got up to 21kbs used to be at 40 but the speed didnt stay consistant and then went back to the 2-3 kbs per second and never changed so it hasnt changed? What now? |
