There are a lot of fake files put on the network to try to dissuade people from d/ling. The newer and more popular the file is the greater chance that there will be fake files being shared. Also some people don't check the files they d/l and are sharing bad files.
When you choose a file to d/l. Try one that doesn't have a lot of sources and has a cable/dsl speed instead of a T3 connection, but sometimes it's a matter of trial and error. Usually persistance will pay off.
