Default playlist problems

OK so I decided that I wanted all my songs saved on to one big play list and then I was going to make smaller play lists by category. I enqueued each song to this "wholeplaylist" and resaved the play list each time some thing new was added. (I saved with the same name each time too) Suddenly, I cannot for the life of me get this particular play list to open in the LW media player, nor can I view the individual songs on this play list in the play list window. Yes I have the box for opening in the LW media player checked. But this particular list keeps opening in Jukebox instead when I highlite it and select launch. If I try to use the "open" icon at the bottom of the LW screen nothing happens. And since I can't access the playlist in LW this of course means that I can't save any more songs to this play list. In my library I've noticed that the whole playlist file type is described as "m3u". Could this be part of my problem? Can anyone help me with this? I really don't want to have to go back and redownload all my stuff. And the help tab is of absolutely no help, of course.

Again, all I want is to be able to open my playlist in the LW player like I specified and keep adding and saving songs to it. I also want to know how to keep this problem from occuring again.

Check out this link as it might be related to your problem Playlist Problem (click on link.)
So you should re-save playlists using different names each time.

BTW you can open playlists created by other players using LW. And vice-versa.

I can't even get the play list to open in new player, so I can't try enqueuing another song to the list and saving under another name. It won't let me rename stuff anyways. And I can't find the files for the songs anywhere on my computer, which I've been able to do with other play lists and programs such as Ares. Its like everything disappeared. And it WAS saved. Grrrrrr. I'm starting to not like LW. I didn't have this problem with Ares, thats for sure! I updated and I'm still having this problem.

Also, I think that this problem resulted from me moving my files after putting them in the play list. How can I get them back, IF I can get them back?

Default moved files, playlist won't work now

I think my play list problems were indeed caused by moving files after I had saved them to the play list. So how do I fix this situation?

Move them back to where they were. Else, move your files 1st & then create a playlist for them or add them to another playlist. As you saw from this thread http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=44320 that moving song files "after" you add them to a playlist will render the playlist unusable. The playlist is simply a pointer. It points to where the song files are. If you move the songs then the playlist will be pointing to empty space. Else, what you can do is move the files back, then remove them from the playlist, then move them to where you want them to be, then add them to the playlist again. Hope that doesn't sound confusing.

BTW I merged your other thread with this one. So Only A Hobo's posting was refering to "this" thread that you should have kept replying to.

Default playing playlists

I completely deleted any playlists and started again (after reading some suggestions) but it still only plays when dbl clkd. Also, where can I find info on what file type icons mean? Thanks, Honey p.s. I am in the library and dragging the songs I'd like to to window below which I hope creates a playlist. Brand new to limewire so be gentle!
