upgrade option for v1.8
 

There is now a version 1.8 for Limewire. The Limewire website says to use the upgrade option to download this version. Where on the Limewire website is this upgrade option link? It is not on the download page.

Previous versions of Limewire has an "Upgrade" option.
Now simply use Windows Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs to uninstall Limewire first (it will leave your SHARE folder).
Then simply download the new version.

ok, thanx for answering. i did as you suggest here already. the problem is, v1.8 did not recognize my share folder, made a new one of its own, and would neither let me change it, nor add to it. furthermore, i do not wish to re-do all my filters nor re-create the settings for all my other options, which i would have to do by not upgrading, vs. just installing. and, in fact, 1.8 would not let me change certain options anyway, like maximum connections and so forth. in fact, given all the bugs and problems in 1.8, there seems to be no reason to watch advertsing while using a product that doesn't otherwise work. so i appreciate your time. but i have decided to stick with 1.7.
