Need more sources problems Hi, I just downloaded LimeWire basic on my laptop. It's connected to the internet through my dorm network. I read that this could be a problem. However, when I first installed the program I was able to download several songs immediately with no problems. Then, all my downloads started coming up as "Need More Sources" after a short while. So, I restarted the computer and then was able to download a few more songs until the problem started again. Now, almost every single file I try to download has this problem. I just figured out that I can download some popular files. Yet, I still can't seem to download files with less than 30 hosts at all. I tried the advice from the sticky on maximizing download potential. Is there any possible solutions to this problem? If I buy pro will this problem still exist? LimeWire isn't going to be very useful to me if I can only download very popular files. |

I figured out that 90% of the time I have this problem, that there is usually 7 hosts listed next to the top of the search list. If the song I'm trying to download has the highest # being 7 then I usually can't download it no matter what I try. I don't usually have problems with songs that have the highest # as more or less than 7. I'm really getting frustrated with it because I just can't download certain songs period. If anyone has any ideas for how to rectify this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks |
Keep in mind it's also best to choose those that show 4 stars. That means a higher chance of connecting with them. Also, right-click the top column of your search results window & a drop down window will appear. Choose to show Vendor. You'll have a better chance of downlds if you find ones with Limewire or FrostWire. LIME=LimeWire. FROST= Frostwire. RAZA=Shareaza (these are usually difficult to connect to.) BEAR=BearShare (these have mixed results.) FOX=Phex. GNUC=Gnucleus (these are unreliable to connect to.) MORPH=Morhpeus (generally good to connect to but can have mixed results.) There's many more but these are the main ones you'll see. |
