Downld speeds Via pm: Quote:

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) But make a note of all your important settings 1st. eg: saving/downld location, speed settings, shared folders, etc. After you delete your LW prefs folder, you'll need to reset all your options. Then see how LW goes. |
(merge) serious D/L problems My ISP is Charter Communications. I'll try deleting my preferences folder. |
(merge) serious D/L problems I'm trying to delete my preferences, but I cant find them on my search engine...I've already "shown all hidden folders." which file do I look for? (be specific) |
Finding LW preferences folder That's why I suggested both options of step 2 & 3. If you had used an earlier version of LW then your prefs folder will be called .limewire & found Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire Or Windows 98 / ME: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\My Documents" If LW 4.10 is your 1st version then the prefs folder will be called limewire without the dot in front of it & will be found here C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\Application Data\limewire Remembering the Application Data folder is "Hidden"! BTW there's sample images for both. Limewire at bottom post & .limewire the previous post. *** BTW if you're using windows XP sp2 then see these links MS & 3rd party patches *** ;) |
I did that and the speeds didnt increase. I'm getting up to 10 hosts, but no more than 4 Kbps any suggestions? |
I am having the same sort of problem, except for mine, it connects, but then says 'Queued' in the 'Status' column. Any ideas? PS. I am running Limewire 4.10.9 on Windows XP Home, through a 3com OfficeConnect Wireless Router. I have turned off its built in firewall with no luck. |
This will explain queued for you http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=51707 and a little bit more info here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...156#post190156 :) |
i still need help!:( |
Did you speak to your ISP & find out whether they're blocking p2p somehow? Stabbin' in the dark here, maybe you could try changing ports. LOTR's post #6 here has some alternative ports http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...274#post189274 I'm not sure that this will have any effect. Maybe someone else here could help you more:) |
Birdy, thanks VERY MUCH for that advice - Limewire works perfectly now! Thankyou very much :) |
