Default I can't get the most out of my dl speed

I set the download speed to unlimited, but it only uses a maximum of 32 kbps. What can I do to get the most out of my bandwidth? I have 256Kbps bandwidth if that helps.

Don't forget your download speed depends a lot on the host you're downloading from. There are lots of tips here for configuring LW for best performance

Thank you. I noticed how having simultaneous downloads affects the download speed and how it can be bad for the connection.

It's in birdy's link but I thought I'd point it out.

1byte = 8bits, 1KB = 8kbs, so 32KB/s = 256kb/s

Metalhead92 your d/l max of 32KB/s is dead on. It's easy to get the two confused.

I also have a 256 kbps download speed plan with my ISP, but I only get 27 KB/s with LimeWire.
There is a speed test somewhere which will give you your speed in KB/s instead of kbps but I can't remember which site it is.

I'm no expert but I would say thats pretty good. I get 196KB/s down and 46KB/s up. If your happy with it, then it's good. It's all relative.

I'd just download 1 file at a time. They're fast downloads anyway, so i wouldn't really care.

I couldn't agree more. The last couple of weeks I had speeds around 0-1KB/s with a 512 adsl connection. After using some nice utility (see my last post here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...t=55367&page=2 )
I'm very happy to have (at least) 20-30KB/s. So 6_pac, your wisdom is more than true
