Just ran a speedtest @ dfw.speakeasy.

Download Speed: 3306 kbps (413.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 603 kbps (75.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Downloading off limewire I'm lucky to get 15KB/s. Clearly this isn't right..

My internet is wireless, we have a satellite up on the roof which feeds off a tower a few miles away, this isn't a hard line connection.

My downloads anywhere else are up to snuff, 250-380KB/s it's just Limewire that I get the lousy download speeds.

Again, I'm getting roughly 5-12KB/sec, and I've tried tons of different hosts. Almost seems capped at 15.

EDIT: I've read all the sticky's and tried to configure Limewire according to what I read. Still no luck..

Do you use any other p2p apps? If so, do you get the same low speeds?
Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue earth)?

It could be that your ISP shapes bandwidth. How good's your connection (fair, excellent etc)?

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

Did you try to download a file with multiple hosts?
