download does not resume

i have limewire pro 10
i have got some problem in my system.it crashes a lot. i've tried everything but still it crashes a lot especially when limewire is running.but thats not the real problem.problem is as follows
many a times it has happened that 90% of a 600-700 mb movie has been downloaded but due to a system crash when i restart limewire it doesnt load old downloads. now when i resume the movie from incomplete folder it again starts at 0% and takes full time to download(mean it doesnt resume).
this has happened not with one movie but anytime when i restart after a system crash.i m really frustrated.could anyone tell me any solution 4 this.

If you're using mac osx then there's a backup utility you can use for your downld prefs. If you're using windows, then all I can suggest is manually backup your downld prefs every few hours or so. ie: Go to LW's Library window, select Incomplete folder, press Explore button. This will open the folder for you. Then Copy "both" the downloads.dat & .bak files to another location. If you LW crashes, then before re-opening LW, replace the downloads.dat & .bak files in the incomplete folder with the ones you backed up. ;)

It would be nice to find out the cause of your crashes.

Have you tried deleting your incomplete folder whilst limewire is closed. I measn the entire thing. Limewire will create a new one automaticly I have been told (never tried it myself, but will try it soon as I am also having some problems. Not as bad as yours though)

As to files not resuming after a systems crash. This is very common when Limewire is not closed down normally. You should really have someone take a look at your system. Have you tried scanning your computer for malware, or maybe tried to post a Highjack This log in one of the computer help forums. I have used this one in the past.

but there is also another one mentioned in this sticky:

Hope this helps :)
