Question problem kinda weird. needs experienced user

My limewire used to work at maybe 114 kb/s during the day then 3 at ngiht. Suddenly it stopped working completely and I just got it to run again. Now it only ever seems to run at between 3 and 20kb/s. Anyone know why?

It depends on the sources mostly. Some downloads are coming from fast sources, others from slow or busy ones.

Looks like you some of the files you were downloading had fast sources, and now you're downloading files from slower or busy users.

Default hmm

yea i know that it's just that it's such a dramatic change from what it usedto be. I just can't get my head round it. becuase im always choosing things with over 100 sources but they still dont go as fast as things with 40 sources used to. and I dont download from modem users so i dont get it.

Ah--that can happen when your machine has connected to parts of the network loaded with spammers.

Type in a ridiculous search (like "askjrg fjsg .mp3"). If you get lots of responses, take a look at your Connections pane and see if you can sense a pattern. Delete one or more of the hosts and try again, until you start getting realistic responses (0 results for garbage searches). Then try a real search.

Oh--modem users are often very good, and give better than modem speeds. Spammers prefer T3
