deleting file
 

i downloaded a video and it won't play on my media player and i can't delete the file either. could it have a virus, i've run all sorts of scans but it's still there. thanks for any help you can give...

If it's in your Shared folder then it might be in process of being uploaded by others. Turn LW off then try. If still problems then see Incomplete Download File won't delete at all (click on link)

BTW it sounds like you can't play the file due to codecs. Try VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) which is a player with in-built codecs & is very reliable. Otherwise get codecs for your player: CODECs list and alternate players for Movies

you people rock....you addressed my problem as if it was yours and with just a little investigating you helped me solve my problem....it also so nice that you didn't try to sell me something that i probably wouldn't buy and i would still have my problem.....your a true unsung hero.....stf65
