Limewire PRO Recently I upgrade to a PRO version, just for the sake, for it to stop asking me, each time I click onto Limewire. It was suppose to speed up the transfer and find more files. It didn't My ADSL speed is 1500/256, and at time I can only manage to download at a rate of 1-2 KB/s. And I was only downloading one file, and the computer were left idle. Why? anyone know? My brother also have Limewire, without the PRO. Our search for file is exactly the same. Is this a SCAM? Last edited by wolfxin; June 14th, 2006 at 07:54 PM. |

not a scam--you'll see the difference if you download a popular file with lots of good sources (assuming your ISP isn't restricting downloads). Pro allows swarming from more hosts (if available) See what speeds you get from a reliable host, like the files authorized for sharing listed on http://www.magnetmix.com/audio2.shtml |

Those are files on a fast server. If you click on one, it will start downloading in your LimeWire, and you shouuld see some very good speeds. It's OK--the files are authorized for sharing and are clean: no worries. It's a great way to check out download speeds (and build up a legal collection of files to share). |
