I checked the online manual of ripwave-mx modem & couldn't see anything about internal firewalls. All I found of interest was: "Do not use the equipment while you are in a bathtub, shower, pool, or spa." lol

If it worked fine for a week & had problems then try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Otherwise the issue might be your ISP. If still problems, go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port to one between 49152 - 65535 such as 64049. See if the brick wall disappears. You may need to restart LW for it to take effect.

undertaker

I looked up you ISP and they have several different plans all have limits on them They also shape P2P traffic. The statement below comes from there terms and conditions.

Quote:
13. Your monthly quota You are subject to the monthly usage limit specified in your nominated access plan (details of which can be found on our website). Only downloaded data (data received from the network to the modem), and not uploaded data (data transmitted from the modem to the network) will be taken into account when measuring your usage.

If you reach your specified monthly usage quota, there are no extra charges but the speed of your access to our Services will be slowed to 64/32 kbps (64kbps is the download speed and 32kbps is the upload speed) or 32/32 kbps (32kbps download speed and upload speed) depending on your plan for the remainder of the billing month. We will do our best to email you before this happens and again when it happens (make sure we always have your current email address!). You will not be charged for additional usage while your service is throttled.

You may increase your usage quota once per month at any time after your first month by shifting to a higher plan. We will do our best to email you when you are close to reaching the limit of your monthly usage quota to give you the opportunity to upgrade before you reach your limit. Remember you can upgrade once a month at any time after your first month and the upgrade will take effect (almost) immediately: you don't have to wait until the end of your billing month. You should be aware that certain activities will substantially contribute to your monthly quota, including downloading video files, applications software, MP3 files and data sharing software such as Kazaa and Gnutella (our Acceptable Use Policy may also cover some of these activities). We may also apply shaping to traffic of this kind if it is affecting our network.

If you would like more detailed information about activities that may contribute to your usage, please contact us or refer to our website.
