why o why am i being taken to napster
 

I havent used my limewire in a longtime but now almost every song I try to download opens up a link to napster.com????? and I cant seem to download the file. Is this some sort of spyware or are napster just flooding limewire?

Try downloading the latest version of LW. Then the Napster thing should stop happening! Read the thread below

This same issue was happening to me, I downloaded the newest version of Limewire and the Napster popups quit. But now I can seem to download anything.....

I read the link and followed the directions to 'restore to default'. When I attempted to download a file after that I got the license message and continued onto the download, but the file status is still stuck on 'connecting'. Not sure what else could be the problem......

It's probably a fake file. Is it a new release or really popular file? Does it have heaps of sources (up to 100)? This kind of fake has only appeared recently. Search again, look for a file with 10 sources or less. Even go for a modem source... it will just take longer to download.

If it's a video file, look it up before download with Bitzi (music files aren't often rated with Bitzi but a lot of video are).
