slow downloads if any at all Greetings: as of the last 10 days or so I have been having the following problems that I never encountered before perhaps someone could enlighten me 1. when attempting to download a song with sometimes numerous threads it will say it is downloading from lets say 5 sources (which would offer up a rather fast download) however the kb rate is registering at 0 (zero) therefore some downloads never seem to to even register although it says it is downloading from anywhere from 1 to 8 sources 2. when searching for an artist or song I will pick up a title with 51 sources however it is saying can you afford 9 cents... and it being a link to another site that is offering downloads for 9 cents or more sometimes no other songs will come up except this can you afford pitch 3. In general Limewire has been acting up and in a strange way, doing things that it has never done before is someone messing around with it or what and I do run spybot searches and updated virus scans everyday thanks for your time and help |
The files that you speak of are spam files on the network. Look for files with # 20 or fewer sources. |
Having the same issue I recentl have run into trouble uw/ Limewire. Its the 4.12.1 version. I have Windows XP Home on an INspiron 2650 laptop by Dell. I have a Pentium 4 w/ 512 Meg of RAM w/ plenty of disk space. On to my issue: Uploads work great but my downloads just sit there w/ no progress altho Limewire says it is d loading from multiple sources. It will occasionally sytart working for a couple seconds but then returns to its non d loading ways. I have tried messing w/ the port assignments (as explained on the troubleshooting page )but nothing has happened. Any help would be great. Thanks |
