Biiiig oops. Hello all. *waves* I'm new to the forum, because I never really had a chance to get too much into it before. However, I made a sort of...huge mistake, and could use a bit of experienced advice, if someone could help me out... I started uploading some files, and must have accidently allowed Limewire to upload my written doccuments. First oops. Anyway, when I was checking out my library (I noticed I was sharing more files than I remembered) I noticed ALL of my documents there. So, like a fool, I deleted most of the files from the library. However, when I went to open a certain file on my actual computer, it said the file was no longer accessible. I checked, and all the files I'd deleted from my library had been deleted from my COMPUTER. Yeah, oops. I'm not sure if there was another topic like this, and I know I probably pulled a total noob movie, but I'm honestly just a bit too stressed to check. Is there any way I can recover the files? (They're not in my recycle bin or anything) The faqs of course had NOTHING on this (are faqs ever any good ANYWAY?) and I'm not sure if I should just do a system restore (windows xp) or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated... -Snowe |

To stop sharing a particular file or folder, you can right-click it from the Library window. For deleted files, you will need a file recovery utility. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=49851 For free ones, Restoration (click on link) seems to be the best. But don't save back onto the same partition you had your erased files on, else it will write over the other missing files. Also stop writing to that partition. |
