Downloading Problem Hey. I wondered if you can help me. I am using the new version of Limewire on the windows XP system. This is the first time that I have downloaded it on this computer and have never had problems on previous computers. My problem is, I can search perfectly fine, but everytime I try to download something, it doesn't seem to download. I cannot see it in the 'Now Downloading' part of the screen and it doesn't download. Can you help me please? Much regards. |
There is a very good chance then that you have just made a small mistake when installing and starting to download. First of all. Did you by any chance choose to not download without a licence ? That will render most downloads useless. If so go to Tools>Options>View>Popups and check the revert to default box Then press apply and ok then go to Tools>Options>Searching>Basic and uncheck Show Licence Warning Then go to Filters>Content and uncheck contentfiltering Press apply and ok |
Aha. Thank you so much. Much regards. |

Then there is something seriously wrong with your Limewire. This fix is for Windows XP by the way, so if you're using a Mac then I have no idea how to access these things. Try uninstalling it through Start>Programs>Limewire>Uninstall Limewire Do not use add/remove programs. Then go to Start>Control Panel>Folder Options and choose the options to show hidden files and folders. Now go to C:\Documents and Settings\**Your useraccount**\Application Data and delete the folder called Limewire. This should give you the option to choose these things while installing Limewire again. Now go to www.limewire.com and download the offline installer (below the recommended one) Then close all windows and programs running and double click on the limewire setup file you just downloaded. While installing just choose the options that you want. |
