Default Connecting... - Need More Sources

Ok. I have a major problem downloading anything with this program.

I can download some movie files - but most won't.

For instance. I did manage to download "XXXXX" from the XXX skit...

Now - one of the big things I want to download is XXXXXX episodes... problem is I can't connect to a single one.

I get "connecting..."

then "need more sources"

every single time. i haven't gotten one to connect yet. I've tried ones with lots of sources (80+) all the way down to 1-5 sources. None of them connect ever. I've disabled my firewall. I don't have any licensing thing set in the program as far as I know... I just can't seem to download any of them. it's the only reason I even downloaded the program.

I did, however, manage to get a few mp3s that I'd wanted to listen to... so I know limewire works... it just seems most things won't connect.

Could you edit out the names of files you're trying to download? Mentioning downloading of specific copyrighted files is against the forum rules

Have you checked any of these files with Bitzi before trying to download? If a file's been rated, you'll get an idea of content & quality
How to use Bitzi

Files with huge numbers of sources are often fakes, stick to the ones with around 10 sources or less. If you can download mp3s without a problem, your LW is ok. Just search again, vary your search terms & try the All Types search. Search at different times of day when users in different time zones log on & content available changes.

I'm occasionally finding the same thing with certain songs. Most songs I can download just fine, but some more popular songs seem to have a pattern emerging that I never saw several months ago.

There will be 2 or 3 songs with identical titles and nearly identical file sizes with 89 sources, then 2 or 3 with 88, then 2 or 3 with 87, all the way down to files with 15 sources. After the 15, there is a list of single source files. The problem is, none of these, be it the 89 source files, the 15 source files, or the single source files, will ever download. They just say Connecting... and then permanently switch to Need More Sources. It's rather annoying.

It is annoying for all of us.........
The latest attempt of the anti-p2p fraction to undermine the files-sharing networks. It will be up to us to survive this newest wave of attacks by staying put until spam filters have caught up with those files....
For video files (but also for music files) it is always the best to double check with Bitzi, as Birdy has pointed out above......
