search results why is it when i search for a file, the search tab only displays x/y. ie. music title 15/1000. why do i only get to see 15 results. I have limewire pro. seems like a rip off. |
And for me it seems that you are one of those users who rather make some unqualified comments than to read a user guide: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/userguide.shtml http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
Fool of the hill And for me it seems like you cant be botherd to answer Arwar's Question so why Post. Your link dose nothing to answer the Question. A lot of reading but not what he was asking. |
Quote out of the user guide: "2. # Clicking one of the column header bars will sort the search results by the criterion in that column. PC users: Right-click a column header to add or remove a column. There are nine default column categories: Quality - Ranking of up to four (4) stars # - Number of identical files found for that one result License - License type for file ? - File Type Icon Name - Name of file Type - Type of file Size - Size of file (kilobytes) Speed - Reported host connection type. Speeds in green are more likely to be accurate. Bitrate - Sampling rate (audio files only). Adding the number of files in the "#" column and assuming those files with no number under the "#" column are only once available will add up to the number displayed in the "tab-bar" of the search. But thanks anyway for your useful comment:rolleyes: http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif Edit: Something I forgot to mention; searching under "All Types" and switching after the search to "Audio" will of course display only the audio files (15/1000); i.e 15 audio files with those key words searched for out of 1000 files of all types. Well, and that's of course not mentioned in the user guide out of the same reason they didn't mention to switch the computer on when trying to use LW !! |
Fool Of The Hill this one's for you Thanks for trying, but you haven't said anything useful yet. Next time try to remember we are not all as smart as you. The "search tab" is what i was asking about. When I search for something it is only showing me limited results. I have watched the search, and have seen matching results disappear. ie. music title (2/5) and a second later it might show: music title (2/10) |
If you go to the 'artist' box to the left of the search results & click on All... you should see most of the results shown (e.g. 148/150). If your junk filter has recognised some files as junk & you've set the filter to 'do not display junk' then some files just won't ever show up. LW's just doing it's best to show the most relevant results, according to your original search, by not showing them all straight away (if this makes sense):) |

Besides, you came here for bashing LW, though this here is the Gnutella forum, which is not associated with LW. Furthermore, "a rip off" is a very servere accusation and should be used very carefully in public. Especially, when one doesn't understand the matter they are talking about.... The information I gave define exactly the way LW displays the search results (of course including the further explanation of Birdy); that you might not have understood it is a complete different issue easily addressed by requesting further explanation......... http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
My problem is similar, I get full results in main search window, but Media, Artist & Album always show "0" results. Any ideas? Have I got a setting wrong? In last Limewire update had the same problem, with my original program download I used to get results in these boxes. Thanks for your ideas. |
